Community Guidelines

Last Updated: May 1, 2025

Welcome to the Attractr community! We are a platform built on fostering meaningful connections between creators (artists, performers, production companies) and audiences within the vibrant world of performing arts. Our goal is to create an inclusive, respectful, and inspiring space where creativity flourishes, collaborations happen, and audiences can engage deeply with the artistic process.

These Community Guidelines outline the standards of behavior expected from everyone using Attractr. They work alongside our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. By using Attractr, you agree to abide by these guidelines. Our collective commitment to these principles ensures Attractr remains a positive and trustworthy environment. Violations can lead to actions ranging from content removal or warnings to account suspension or termination.

Thank you for being part of our community and helping us maintain these standards.

1. Respect and Inclusivity: Treat Everyone with Dignity

Attractr celebrates diversity and welcomes individuals from all backgrounds. We are committed to fostering an environment free from harassment, discrimination, and hate.

  • Do Not Engage In Hate Speech: Do not post content or engage in behavior that promotes violence, discrimination, disparagement, or hatred against individuals or groups based on attributes like race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, caste, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, serious disease or disability, or immigration status.
  • No Harassment or Bullying: Do not engage in targeted harassment, intimidation, threats, stalking, or bullying. This includes unwanted sexual advances, degrading comments about appearance or ability, or inciting others to harass an individual.
  • Respect Boundaries: Respect others' personal space and boundaries, both online and in any interactions facilitated through Attractr (e.g., during Live Rooms or events).

2. Authenticity and Integrity: Be Honest and Transparent

Trust is fundamental to our community. Represent yourself and your offerings truthfully.

  • No Impersonation: Do not impersonate other individuals, creators, or organizations in a misleading or deceptive manner. Parody or commentary should be clearly indicated.
  • Accurate Representation: Creators must accurately describe their skills, experience, offerings, pricing, and any associated benefits or requirements. Do not make false or misleading claims.
  • Genuine Interactions: Engage authentically. Do not use fake accounts, generate fake engagement (likes, follows, reviews), or participate in coordinated inauthentic behavior.

3. Content Standards: Share Responsibly

Attractr is a platform for artistic expression, but certain content is not permitted to ensure the safety and well-being of our community.

  • Illegal Activities: Do not promote, depict, or facilitate illegal acts.
  • Violence and Harm: Do not post content that is excessively graphic, glorifies violence, promotes dangerous acts, or incites harm towards oneself or others.
  • Adult Content: Sexually explicit content is generally prohibited. Nudity may be permissible in artistic or educational contexts related to performing arts but must be appropriately labeled and restricted if necessary. Non-consensual sexual content is strictly forbidden.
  • Child Safety: We have zero tolerance for content that exploits or endangers children. Any such content will be removed, and the account will be reported to law enforcement authorities.
  • Harmful Misinformation: Do not share misinformation that could cause real-world harm (e.g., related to health, safety, or civic processes).
  • Spam: Do not post repetitive, unwanted, or irrelevant content or messages.

4. Privacy and Security: Protect Information

Respect the privacy and security of others and the platform.

  • Respect Privacy: Do not share others' private or confidential information without their explicit consent (doxxing). This includes personal contact details, private messages, or sensitive personal data. Creators must handle Audience Member data received through Attractr securely and in line with our Privacy Policy and applicable laws (like Quebec's Law 25).
  • Platform Security: Do not attempt to breach Attractr's security measures, access accounts you are not authorized to use, phish for credentials, or distribute malware.

5. Constructive Engagement: Interact Respectfully

We encourage discussion, feedback, and collaboration, but it must be done respectfully.

  • Respectful Communication: Engage in courteous dialogue. Disagreements are natural, but avoid personal attacks, insults, or inflammatory language.
  • Constructive Feedback: When providing feedback (e.g., reviews), keep it relevant, honest, and constructive.
  • Platform Use: Use Attractr's communication tools (messaging, comments, Live Rooms) for their intended purpose – connecting and engaging around performing arts. Do not use them for spamming, harassment, or unsolicited commercial messages.

6. Intellectual Property: Respect Creativity

Attractr is a hub for creativity; respect the intellectual property rights of others.

  • Original Work: Only share content that you have created yourself or have explicit permission or license to use.
  • No Infringement: Do not post content that infringes on copyrights, trademarks, patents, or other intellectual property rights. Properly attribute work when required.

7. Legal Compliance (Especially for Creators)

  • Follow Laws: Creators are responsible for complying with all applicable local, provincial, and federal laws and regulations, including business licensing, zoning ordinances, and safety standards related to their offerings (especially if involving in-person events or services).
  • Tax Obligations: Creators are responsible for understanding and fulfilling their tax obligations (income tax, sales tax like GST/HST/QST) related to earnings generated through Attractr. Accurately report earnings as required by tax authorities.
